Now that the air has cleared a bit after the launch of our 2.0 platform (thanks for everyone’s patience by the way!), I figured it would be a good time to discuss some of the great new features as well as give you some hints of what is to come. We hope these new additions will help you sell more tickets for your events and make your lives easier!
TicketLeap 2.0 introduced an entirely new look and feel to the website which we hope you find a lot more user friendly. The idea is to offer as much as possible while trying to keep the interface simple. During the design process, the one thing we kept in mind is that the best products online are those that work so easy that they require no thought at all. I know we aren’t there yet, but we feel that we’ve made some great strides in that direction. With that being said, I wanted to point out some notable changes.
- Search by Zip Code – Now patrons can type in their zip code on the homepage and all the events will be automatically displayed in order of distance from that zip code. This is great for the user because if you are in California, chances are you aren’t concerned with event happening in Florida. More to come in this regard.
- Virtual Box Office – We commonly refer to this as the VBO. The VBO enables event holders to process orders for walk-in sales directly via the TicketLeap website. All you need is a computer with an Internet connection. For those events that need real speedy entry, we offer the ability to utilize a credit card swipe which will help you conduct a transaction in under one minute. Keep in mind, you need a PC with Internet Explorer to use the USB card swipe.
- Telesales – This is very similar to the VBO, but it is designed to – you guessed it – process telephone sales. This interface obviously doesn’t have the credit card swipe functionality, but it will keep the process moving swiftly by enabling you to look up past customers quickly.
- Discounts - For the first time ever, you can now offer discounts on your tickets using a promotional code. Simply log into the vendor area, set up a promotional code, and away you go. The promotions come in two flavors – % off or $ off. Also, you can specify how often the codes can be used and if they can be used by the same person more than once. More options are on the way here as well!
- New seating chart – This is one of the updates that we are most proud of. If you have a reserved seating event, we’ll help you get setup. The chart is downright sexy (spoken like a true geek) and has these great popup menus to show seating options when you click on the seats. Also, managing the seats from the vendor area is much easier and graphical as well. Once again, more to come!
- Surveys – We’ve made a few minor changes here which enable you to drag and drop the order of the questions on the survey. We’re trying to make your life easier after all!
We hope you are enjoying some of the new features listed above and more importantly will put them to good use to help you sell more tickets!
Many of you have been coming forward with great suggestions. Please keep them coming! After all, this is where we are getting all these great ideas from. =)
Until next time,
Chris
