When you are more concerned with breaking even than making a profit, you may need to think about some of the suggestions below.

  1. Presell tickets online – Whether you sell tickets online with TicketLeap or another service, online ticketing is fast, easy, and convenient for everyone.
  2. Email your list – Announce your event to your email list. You can do this via a 3rd party tool, like TicketLeap, or simply use your email program.
  3. Advertise in your email signature – If you are doing online ticketing with TicketLeap or another provider, you can add a link to purchase tickets in every email you send.
  4. Start selling early – “Word of mouth” is the best way to kick start your event. Early adopters are going to advertise for you.
  5. Add earlybird pricing - Nothing gets people buying tickets earlier than a nice discount. You’d be surprised, but even a small discount goes a long way.
  6. Use the media - A press release can be as simple as an email. Just gather up a list of local newspapers and tv stations. Start firing off emails to the editors and reports. If you get published, you can add a link in the article to your online ticketing provider of choice enabling online readers to buy tickets with just one click.
  7. VIP discount Code – TicketLeap, enables organizations to create discount codes for their events. Create a VIP discount code and give it to your “friends and family”.
  8. Add a raffle - Work with a local restaurant or bar to create a free giveaway. Chances are that they’ll offer it up for free just to get the promotion.
  9. Sell at a discount online – The time savings of selling online will pay many times over. Plus, you will drive more sales with a discount.
  10. Advertise on your voicemail – Keep your normal greeting but append a call to action – “Go to TicketLeap.com to buy tickets for my event” (replace TicketLeap with whatever ticketing provider you use)..
